A Cozy Vanilla Steamer Recipe... With a Bonus Beginner Knitting Pattern!

Hello! I have decided to post another post today on a vanilla steamer recipe and include a bonus mug cozy pattern that only takes an hour or two to complete and less than half a skein to make! I apologize in advance for not putting up pictures of the mug cozy and vanilla steamer if you are a more "visual" person, but the instructions are very simple and (hopefully) easy to understand.

1. The Vanilla Steamer Recipe
(I found this recipe on WikiHow and decided to alter it a little, but you can find the original at http://www.wikihow.com/Make-a-Steamer-(Drink).)

Serving Size:
1 cup

Ingredients:
1 cup of milk
1 1/2 tablespoons of granulated sugar
About 1/4 teaspoons of vanilla extract
A sprinkle of cinnamon (or you can be like me and use a lot of ground cinnamon...)
(Optional) Frother of some sort
(Optional) Marshmallows or Whipped Cream

Instructions:
Pour the cup of milk into a microwave-safe mug.
Microwave for about 30 seconds.
Add in the sugar, vanilla extract, a bit of cinnamon, and any other ingredients you would like in the milk into the mug with the milk.
Microwave for another minute or so or until the desired temperature is reached. (Note that the milk must be warm for the sugar to dissolve properly in it.)
(Optional: You can use the frother as you wish at this time and do any necessary procedures associated with the frother... Honestly, I do not know how to use one properly...)
Dust the top with more cinnamon if it is your heart's desire, or add some marshmallows or whipped cream on top.
Enjoy! :)

2. Knitted Mug Cozy Pattern
(This pattern is great for beginners that are still exploring the vast world of knitting, though it is a great, simple, and one of the "quick" patterns that anyone can do with the necessary materials.) Original pattern found at http://www.thesittingtree.net/2010/11/free-knitting-or-crochet-pattern.html.

Yarn:
You can use any yarn but may have to adjust the amount of stitches accordingly. I tried out a couple different types of yarn for this pattern, but I suggest a size 5 or 6 yarn.

Needles:
Straight needles size 7-10

Pattern:
(I will refrain from using abbreviations to help out our fellow beginner knitters.)
Cast on 12-18 stitches, depending on the size of yarn you are using (Note that I am going to explain this pattern using 18 stitches but can be, again, adjusted accordingly.).
Knit garter stitch for 9 inches. (It is usually just considered the "knit" stitch.)
Knit 2, Bind off 3 (Knit 2, Cross the first knitted stitch of the two over the second, Repeat two more times), Knit 7, Bind off 3, Knit 1
Knit 2, Cast on 3, Knit 7, Cast On 3, Knit 2
Knit (garter stitch) for 4 more rows
Sew in the ends and add the buttons!

Now you can use your mug cozy over your mug of warm vanilla steamer milk! I hope you enjoyed these, and have a wonderful week!
